Workin', Servin' and Lovin'

From the Lifetree Adventures Newsletter.....

Our Lifetree Adventures trip to Egypt was a wonderful, life-changing adventure. After a day or two in Cairo to see the pyramids, we flew to Luxor where we met a delightful group of young men ranging in ages from 5-17 who lived in an orphanage. We were there to work. On the surface our job was to paint and construct school desks for each boy. We soon realized our main job was building relationships as we became friends and shared the love of Jesus. These boys could hardly believe that a group of people from the USA would come to their home to paint, build and play! As I understand it, we were the first group to ever go to Egypt to do a social service project. That made the whole experience even more special.

Following our time in Luxor we had a 3-day cruise on the Nile River to Aswan. That was a nice way to relax following the exuberance and excitement of our week at the orphanage.

In addition to the orphanage experience, our view of Egypt was changed profoundly. The entire country is a spectacular visual view of ancient history. We will never forget those boys and the great hospitality of Egypt nor the good care we received from Lifetree Adventures.
