On New “Scots Irish Tour”
Focusing on the links and similarities between Scotland and Ireland as well as the broad Scots-Irish influence in the U.S., CIE Tours is introducing a new “Scots Irish Tour” combining four nights in Scotland with five nights in Northern Ireland and Dublin, and priced from $1,798 plus airfare.
Departures start on April 30 and run every other week until October 26, 2009.
The itinerary, which starts in Glasgow, goes to Loch Lomond, Fort William, Fort Augustus, Loch Ness, Glencoe, Nairn, Blair, Edinburgh, and Cairnryan before crossing over the sea to Larne and on to Belfast, the Antrim Coast, Giant's Causeway, Derry, Ardara, Ballyshannon, and Dublin.
Activities include a scenic cruise on Loch Ness; whisky tasting and tour at Blair Athol Distillery; guided tours of Edinburgh and Belfast, walking tour of Derry, and open-top bus tour of Dublin; excursion to Slieve League Cliffs; Donegal hand-weaving demonstration; and visits to the Glasgow Museum of Transport, Spean Bridge Woollen Mills, Belleek Pottery, Battle of the Boyne Visitor Centre and four castles (Blair, Edinburgh, Enniskillen and Glenveagh).
